A brand new exhibition opening at Slack Space Wednesday 7 July.

Oulipo, roughly translated as “workshop of potential literature," is a loose gathering of writers and mathematicians which seeks to create works using constrained writing techniques. It was founded in 1960 by Raymond Queneau and François Le Lionnais. Other notable members include novelists Georges Perec and Italo Calvino, poet Oskar Pastior and poet/mathematician Jacques Roubaud.

The exhibition will feature art, instillations and writing inspired by the Oulipian tradition and is unique in the Country. Oulipian poets will be invigilating the space throughout the exhibition to answer questions and provide explanations of the work.
